Dear Representative, I am reaching out to you in efforts to make you aware of House Bill 569 if it is not already on your radar. The Bonton House Bill 569 is very important bill submitted by your colleague Scott Sanford district 70 Collin County. We support this Bill and hope that you will too. We agree that insurmountable fines and fees for prisoners results in oppression which lends to recidivism and subsequent cyclical entry into the prison system. This costs Texans millions of tax dollars and ruins the lives of individuals & families. Texas must be reformed and we can start here with this Bill that will help eliminate burdensome monetary encumbrances yielding much higher rates of the formerly incarcerated successfully reintegrating and becoming contributors to the communities in which they return to.
